Order Processing time

Our products are all made to order, we commonly get asked to alter the weight installed in both toys and blankets. This means the typical turn around time is between 10-15 business days.

Due to a high volume of orders we are currently processing orders in a 15-20 day turn around.

If you require it for a birthday, or event please add a note with the date so that we can attempt to ensure it makes it there on time

The team at Nana's will do our best to make your order within these time frames, however there are times when we are processing large orders for medical and government clients, as well as large volumes of orders.

Our website will send you a notice when your order is 'scheduled' by the team, and then another 'making' notice will be sent when your team starts work on your order. If you unsubscribe from the notices you will not get these messages.

From our smallest lap blankets perfect for car rides or calming at school, to our largest king-size options ideal for restful sleep at home, we’ve got you covered—literally!

Keep in mind that weighted blankets work best when they are not shared. Each blanket is made to gently distribute deep pressure to one person, mimicking a calming hug and helping to reduce anxiety, stress, and restlessness.

Please note: These sizes are approximate and may vary depending on the fabric used.
As each blanket is handmade, variations of 5–10cm in dimensions are completely normal.

At Nana's Weighted Blankets, we strive to ensure that every product you receive meets your expectations. However, please be aware that slight variations in colour may occur between the fabric you see on our website and the actual product you receive. This is due to differences in screen settings, lighting conditions, and fabric batches. While we do our best to represent colours accurately, some minor discrepancies are unavoidable.

For each order, the Team at Nana’s carefully selects a complementary backing material to suit the fabric you've chosen. This ensures that your blanket is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. For Double blankets and larger custom Panel designs, we may need to incorporate additional backing material to achieve the correct width and length for your selected size. Rest assured, we will always use a high-quality fabric that complements the overall design and ensures the durability of your blanket.

For Queen and King-sized blankets, please note that these are constructed in two parts and joined using 'Hook and Loop' strips at regular intervals. This design decision is made because larger, heavier blankets can become too cumbersome for domestic washing machines and may not be suitable for machine washing. By creating them in two separate, manageable pieces, we aim to make your blanket easier to care for while maintaining its functionality and comfort.

Thankfully, most high-quality weighted blankets, including those made by Nana’s Weighted Blankets, are machine washable, making cleaning easier than you might think.

Here’s everything you need to know to safely clean and care for your weighted blanket.

1. Machine Washable for Easy Cleaning

One of the best things about a well-made weighted blanket is that you can pop it right into your washing machine. There's no need for expensive dry cleaning or complicated routines. Just be sure to check the care label before washing for any specific instructions, especially if your blanket has unique materials or inner layers.

For best results, use a front-loading washing machine or one without a center agitator, which can be gentler on the fabric and stitching. Choose a gentle or delicate cycle to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.

2. Keep Water Temperature Below 60°C

When it comes to water temperature, it’s important not to crank up the heat. Do not exceed 60°C (140°F). Washing with hot water can weaken the fabric, damage the inner filling, and cause shrinkage or warping over time. Stick to warm or cool water for a thorough yet gentle clean.

Using a mild, bleach-free detergent is also a smart choice. Harsh chemicals can degrade the fabric and reduce the lifespan of your blanket.

3. Avoid the Dryer at All Costs

After your blanket is clean, your next instinct might be to toss it in the dryer—but resist the temptation! Never put a weighted blanket in the dryer. The high heat can damage the internal structure and lead to clumping, melting of poly pellets, or irreversible wear on the seams.

Even on a low heat setting, the tumbling motion and heat exposure can reduce the life of your blanket significantly. Instead, opt for air drying.

4. Air Dry or Hang to Dry for Best Results

The safest and most effective way to dry your weighted blanket is by air drying or hanging it to dry. You can lay it flat on a clean surface or hang it over a sturdy clothesline, railing, or drying rack. If your blanket is particularly heavy, draping it over multiple rungs can help distribute the weight and prevent stretching.

Make sure it dries completely before storing or using it again, as any trapped moisture could lead to mildew or odour buildup.
